Winter party tips

If you’re planning a party during the colder months then our winter party tips could be just what you need. Whether your event will be held in a marquee, a venue or at home, the time of year will have an impact upon your plans. here are just a few ideas  to get you started with your perfect winter party plans.

Theming and décor

You could go one of two ways here! Embrace the season with a celebration of autumnal or winter colours, or deny the cold weather with a summer or holiday themed party!

Autumn or winter parties

The autumn offers up a riot of glorious colours that are perfect for flavouring cold season events. Browns, yellows, golds and reds combine in a luxurious colour palette that is supported by suppliers of tableware, linens and furniture.

Crisp, blues and whites work well if you’re planning a winter party. Introduce golds, reds and greens if you want a Christmassy look and feel. Comfy low furniture with throws and blankets will create a cosy space for your guests to enjoy.

Summer themed events

Turn up the heating and invite your guests to dress for a summer party! A fantastic idea for banishing the post Christmas blues. Think of your favourite holiday destination and use that as the basis for your theme. An Ibiza chill out party or Hawaiian luau perhaps?

Go cheesy with bright colours, neons, plastic flamingos and cocktail umbrellas; or add a touch of class with a warming, summery colour palette.

Winter party themes

There are so many to choose from! A fairy-tale Christmas, Ski lodge, winter wonderland, pantomime or why not choose a film favourite such as Disney’s Frozen? Christmas jumper parties are simple but fun too.

Woodland winter themes offer the opportunity to create some beautiful décor using natural materials that you can gather from the forest or from your own garden. Fallen branches and twigs, Holly leaves and berries for instance. Partner them up with some fairly lights for a wonderful effect. Candles on tables, hurricane lanterns and displays of winter flowers will make for a cosy space and will work in support of most themes.

Winter party drinks

Autumn and winter offer opportunities for a wide variety of drinks options. There are some incredible bars available for hire; an Ice bar would be bang on theme and would provide an incredible centre piece for your party!

Have some fun with a Vodka luge! These carved ice structures come in all shapes and sizes, look amazing and are guaranteed to draw a crowd.
