Creativity comes in many forms and when one of our top industry partners needed to find a way to create a mind blowing entertaining area where space was at a premium they knew that they could rely on Lifestyle marquees to devise the perfect solution with an indoor marquee.
An opportunity to impress
With VIP guests flying in from various parts of the world to see important product demonstrations and to finalise deals, the team at international print technology specialist Duplo knew that they needed something unique and creative to entertain and impress their guests; enter Vanilla Bean Events, one of Surrey’s top catering and event production companies.
As an initial guest list of fifty quickly grew to over one hundred delegates, Vanilla Bean needed to find a way to ensure that their Alice in Wonderland themed event would still work 
in the available space. With Duplo needing to demonstrate both their facilities and their high end print technology on site, an external venue was not an option.
Thankfully, a large warehouse space at the Duplo offices provided opportunity, but a cold cavernous area was never going to work with the high end look and feel required by the clients’ initial event brief.
An indoor marquee – the perfect solution
An indoor marquee – something that Lifestyle marquees has produced for Vanilla Bean in the past – provided the ideal solution. The indoor marquee was used to provide a charmingly themed space leading straight from the main Duplo offices as an extension of the existing space, rather than a separate area.
In keeping with the Alice in Wonderland theme, Vanilla Bean team members handed guests ‘Drink me’ labelled bottles as they entered the themed indoor marquee from the main office space. Within the marquee itself Vanilla Bean Events created a ‘mystical forest’ complete with fog effects and a beautifully imagined, atmospheric lighting scheme, provided by another of our excellent 
industry partners, Lighting with Intent. Lighting with Intent also added heaters – a must during the colder months; and finally, to complete the magical, wonderland effect, a glittering starcloth ceiling sat overhead to provide a sparkling night sky look and feel.
The indoor marquee also housed the Mad Hatters Bar, complete with flair bar tenders and an array of interesting beverages, as well as four separate food stations, designed, built and creatively catered by Vanilla Bean Events to feature delicacies from Japan, France, Italy and the UK.
The event was a huge success, as Vanilla Bean Events Operations Manager Victor Aguirre explains: ‘Having an indoor marquee worked really well. We needed to create extra space but didn’t want to break up the event or lose the atmosphere… the marquee acted just like an extension to the office, it worked perfectly. No one would have known that they were actually standing inside a warehouse!’
