Client: Fego Café and Restaurant
The Brief
In response to government guidelines surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the café Fego team wanted to create two separate, safe retail and dining spaces for their restaurants, located in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire and Cobham, Surrey. Both locations would need café marquee hire solutions to be used over the winter months and beyond, that were aligned with the Fego brand and that could house urban gardens for guests to dine in and enjoy, creating the warm, fun and feel good environment that Fego is known for.
The Challenges
Gerrards Cross location:
- Marquee to be connected to rear of existing shop
- Built over, and incorporating a large storage container
- Incorporate a brick wall backdrop to one side
- Built on hard surface – required weighting or fixing solution
- Heating solution with large fuel capacity
Cobham location:
- Extended from front of existing shop
- Constrained space due to neighbouring shop boundaries and public footpaths
- Extra height required to incorporate existing awning and infra-red heating system
- Built on hard surface – required weighting or fixing solution
- Additional heating required
The Solutions
Lifestyle marquees provided two marquees for long term hire. A non standard sized 11M x 9M marquee at the Gerrards Cross location and a 6M x 6M marquee with 3M leg height for the Cobham site. Both marquees were supplied ready for Fego’s styling team (Turmerichouse) to add the finishing touches.
Gerrards Cross location:
- Clear walled marquee, fully openable on three sides
- Marquee connected to existing shop with rain gutters and weatherproofing
- Nonstandard (11M x 9M) sized marquee solution
- Marquee heater supplied with extra large fuel tank
- Weighting to marquee legs due to installation on hard surface
- Festoon lighting (client supplied) installed by Lifestyle marquees
Cobham location:
- Clear walled marquee, fully openable on three sides
- 3M high extended leg height to incorporate existing infra-red heating system and awning
- Additional, ceiling suspended, infra-red heating system added
- Festoon lighting and electrical systems supplied and installed (ECA qualified electricians)
- Marquee weighted with ballast for additional safety due to solid surface installation
