How do you make sure that you get the right marquee for you and your event? Ordering a marquee may not be quite as easy as buying an item of clothing – although shape, style, size and fit are all relevant factors in the decision-making process – but at Lifestyle marquees we always aim to make it a stress-free experience.
After all, making sure you have the right marquee will be integral to the success of your event and we want to make sure everything is perfect. So we thought it would be useful to explain what happens once you’ve made an enquiry.
Helpful, proactive and responsive from the start
An initial chat will help us to as much as possible about the event, when and where it is and your specific needs and desires. There will be plenty of questions to get a good overview of what you want but also, and importantly, careful listening. We pride ourselves on taking a consultative approach, providing best advice and tailored solutions based on what will work best for each individual client.
From this we can now provide a ballpark figure which we can also send via email that explains what we’ve allowed for. If you’re happy with this, we’ll arrange a site visit.
Site visits and quotations
You’ll meet Iain Booth, Lifestyle marquees’s MD, who will discuss your requirements in more detail, assess the available space and take measurements. Armed with his iPad loaded with inspiring images, Iain will talk you through the options and help you make decisions. We know that there is much to plan for a marquee event and Iain will be happy to recommend tried and trusted suppliers who you might want to consider for your catering, entertainment and so on.
Following the site visit we will prepare a detailed quote that itemises every aspect of the marquee hire and any associated items such as the type of flooring, lighting, furniture etc. Our quote is accompanied by a floorplan so that you can see how the space will work. Our quotation is provided with no obligation to proceed and we’re very happy to make tweaks as need be – for instance, if you want to compromise on one item so that you can direct more of your budget to having a really funky dancefloor, we’ll do the number crunching.
With a date in the diary it’s time to get down to the nitty gritty
Payment of a deposit secures your event date and the job now passes on to the Operations team. We’ll schedule a build date and make sure all equipment is prepared and ready. We’ll also liaise with your other suppliers to ensure that they will have everything they need to deliver their service and to discuss access requirements.
Generally speaking, installation takes 1-2 days. More complex installations can take up to a week, but this tends to be for jobs where we have to first build a suitable base on which to install the marquee – perhaps because we’re working on a terraced area or over a lake, it happens!
Once everything is complete, our foreman will walk you around to ensure you’re happy and get the work signed off. With that done, it’s over to you and your guests to enjoy a wonderful event.
Post event
De-rigging usually takes place the day after the event or on a Monday if your event is on a weekend. Taking a marquee down is far quicker than putting it up and the team will usually be in and out within one day. Before we leave, we’ll check that the area has been left as we found it. Any yellowing of grass will soon disappear.
And that’s it, job done. Apart from following up to make sure you were happy with our service – that final chat is just as important as the very first conversation we had.
